Traditionally, families share in the cost, with each student paying a small participation fee for their own skating experience. This simple, affordable structure makes it easy for schools to offer the program without impacting their budgets, while ensuring every student has access to a fun, engaging activity. Families can feel confident they are investing in a meaningful experience that promotes physical fitness, skill development, and lasting enjoyment.

School pays
PTA/PTO sponsorships or allocating school funds from special programs or discretionary budgets has proven effective way to bring Skatetime® into schools. Many parent organizations recognize the value of providing students with engaging, fitness-focused programs and are eager to support initiatives that promote health, activity, and school-wide participation.
Hybrid
Funding for Skatetime® is flexible and school-friendly. Whether through a fundraiser, a modest parent contribution, or allocated school funds, the school designates a portion of its budget to support the program. Importantly, all billing is handled directly with the school—we invoice the school, not individual students—keeping administration simple and streamlined. With multiple pathways to funding and a straightforward billing structure, Skatetime® makes it easy for schools to deliver a fun, active, and educational experience to every student.

Typical Program
Five Day Program
Skatetime® offers a flexible five-day program, with total pricing based on the number of participating students. Each program guarantees five full days of actual skating time for every student, ensuring a complete and consistent experience regardless of a school’s physical education schedule.
This flexibility allows the program to adapt seamlessly to each school’s calendar. For example, schools with daily P.E. classes may complete the program in one week, while schools with P.E. once per week can extend the program over five weeks—still delivering the same five-day experience to every student.
By structuring the program this way, Skatetime® ensures equitable access, consistent outcomes, and a high-quality experience for all participants, while making scheduling simple and convenient for educators.
The majority of schools position their skating unit as an in-house field trip, collecting a nominal per-student fee from parents to fund the experience. This approach is familiar, easy to administer, and allows students to participate in a unique, activity-based program without requiring significant school resources.
In addition to parent contributions, schools often explore alternative funding avenues. Many partner with local PTO/PTA organizations, which frequently support programs that promote student wellness and engagement. Others choose to incorporate the cost into existing school fees or allocate funds directly from their budgets to cover the program in full.
This flexibility in funding allows each school to select the approach that best fits its community and financial structure. Regardless of the method, Skatetime® remains easy to implement—ensuring students benefit from a fun, active, and educational experience while schools maintain control and simplicity in how the program is funded.
